Day 26 10th May

Happy Wedding Anniversary Geoff and Lorelle.
Today we left Nitmiluk at 9.00  and travelled to a free camp 58km west of Timber Creek, called the East Baines Rest Area. The landscape has changed again and is quite remarkable. We travelled through the Gregory National Park where there were many large escarpments and cliffs. There were lots of trees with very few pandanus palms. We followed the Victoria River for some way, taking some photos near the Bradshaw Bridge. This bridge is on the edge of the military reserve.
We camped along the East Baines River and went down to try some fishing. What a beautiful river! Unfortunately we had to watch for crocodiles.
